  1. While by no means a hero, Adolf Hitler failed to finish the last stage of his hero quest. (you could probably failed to finish the last two.) Born in 1889 in Austria, Hitler was born into a poor family. A failed artist, Hitlers call to action actually came in the first world war. Eager to go fight for the Germans, Hitler was a messenger officer in a German defensive trench. During the war Hitler was temporarily blinded from a gas attack. during his two week recovery in an emergency room, Hitler began to comptenplate the meaning of his existence. Back in action after full recovery, Hitler was outraged to learn about the conditions of the Armistice. Enraged by the outrageous demands of the treaty, Hitler began to make plans for a new order. Through out the 1920's, Germany was a wreck. With no established government, aside from the weak Democracy that was put in place by the allies, it was complete anarchy. During this time Hitler was jailed twice for attempts against the government. In 1933, Hitler came to power as Germany's Chanclor. However, three years later, Hitler made himself dictator, leader of the Nazi party. At this point, Hitler started gearing for war. in 1939 Hitler invaded poland, starting World War Two. Hitlers ultimate goal, enslave the free world, and make Germany supreme. An extremely capricious general, Hitler made wild advances across Europe. Biliving this would be the ultimate panacea for Germany, he was completely wrong. While Hitler in the Worlds eyes was a sardonic character, his incompetence led to his defeat. Hitler had planned to Bring Germany to the top, as a super nation. He never made it there. In fact he dragged Germany in the opposite direction, pulling them Down. When Hitler committed suicide in 1945, he knew, he had completely failed.

  2. After reading about Benito Mussolini, the dictator of Italy from 1919-1943, I realize that not only he did not complete his hero quest but he also drove the economy and culture of his country into the dirt. In his early life, Benito Amilcare Andrea Mussolini was born on 29 July 1883 in Predappio in northern central Italy. His father was a renowned blacksmith however the area became so poor he moved to Switzerland, where he became involved in socialist politics and economics. He then returned to Italy in 1904 as a journalist who widely supported the idea that the Italian entry in WWI was a wonderful action. This thought process lead to his break from socialism and later entrance into the war. In March of 1919, Mussolini formed the Fascist Party, galvanising the support of many unemployed war veterans. He formed them into squads called Black Shirts who terrorized their political opponents with threats and massacres that quickly spread throughout the country. With this relentless force, the group was finally accepted into the government in 1921, a monumental year for the dictator. As the country slowly fell into utter chaos, Mussolini believed he was the panacea for the nation's troubles. Soon, King Victor Emmanuel invited Mussolini to form a government after his recent march on Rome. Mussolini gradually dismantled the institutions of democratic government and in 1925 made himself dictator while going by the name 'Il Duce'. Throughout his dictatorship, Mussolini invaded Abyssinia, incorporated it into his new Italian Empire, provided military support to Franco in the Spanish Civil War, increased co-operation with Nazi Germany, and lastly began to introduce anti-Jewish legislation in Italy. However, Allied troops overthrew him just before he could fully form with Hitler's nation because he procrastinated just slightly too long with his obsession with Rome. He was later hung and shoot by his own people. Even though Benito Mussolini came very close to his ultimate goal of ruling over Europe, his "hero" quest came to an abrupt halt when the US, his nemesis, decided to stop him in his tracks.

  3. While not on the list of the world's most notorious people, Michael Jackson was nonetheless another character marked in history as a failure. The extrovert's began his career as a young child, using his passion for singing and dancing to gain national attention and support. As he quickly grew older and more successful, he eventually underwent a physical transformation in the threshold stage of his hero quest. Michael Jackson underwent surgeries to bleach his skin, and from there Jackson soon began to pursue a life of drug addictions and possible molestation. His life continued to further unfold, and as Michael Jackson faced challenges and temptations relating to drug abuse, he worked with his doctor in a failed attempt to overcome the problems. Nonetheless, Jackson did have music success until his last few years; however, his capricious attitude never provided for significant change. Michael Jackson's iconoclastic lifestyle eventually ended from an overdose of painkillers. Jackson then enters the abyss of his hero quest, where his lowest point is reached. Michael Jackson's legacy continued on though, as his legacy was remembered more by his accomplishments as a musician than by his failures as a person. Jackson's failures were never lost though, as the man never changed as a person; for he began his transformation as a man with big issues masked by even bigger talent, and ended his life in the same fashion.

  4. In this blog post I'm going to follow the life of Alexander The Great in order with the hero quest timeline.
Alexander was born on 20/21 of July 356 BC. He was heavily educated as a young boy and lived a princes lifestyle. Alexander's first experience with warfare happened when his father went away from home to carry out a campaign. A neighboring ally attacked and he won the battle and showed that he could be leader. He then was involved in many skirmishes alongside his father. One point in time Alexander fled greece due to the fact that he wasn't a full heir thus stopping his military progression. His father was then assassinated and caused Alexander to rise to the throne. He then started to carry out his fathers military plans. Alexander faced many opponents on the battle field and his undefeated record was due to the fact that he could evolve his tactics to his opponets capricious plans. Alexander was pushing his empire at an alarming intill his army refused to fight befrore the invasion of India. This ended up in the halt of expanding eastward and Alexander turned his army around from the advice given from general Coenus. He also started being benevolent to his soldiers by letting over-aged and disabled soldiers back to Greece. Alexander was known to of had many nemesis's, which tried to plot against him. There plots where usually uncovered and resulted in the executions of everyone involved. Alexander The Great never returned home due to getting ill with either wine or stream water and died twelve days after.

  5. I feel like Martin Luther King Jr. also did not finish his hero quest WHILE he was alive. Once he was assassinated, he had no chance of finishing his dream of segregation. Yes, once he died.. people realized that it actually was a major issue and it should be resolved, but it wasn't resolved when he was alive. He didn't complete it. King was born on January 15, 1929 and after his years of education, he played a major role in being a excellent benefactor and he had a quintessence way of answering and debating his political and social issues of the nation. He was at first a pastor with a strong wit. I think King had a strong panacea for segregation and he figured it out at a young age. He definitely stood up for what he believed in and didn't back down. I mean, Who would? He held many meetings and sessions to help find a cure to racial segregation. None, really worked. King also contributed to many services throughout his lifespan. I think that is what made him famous. As he wrote speeches that he was planning to give to his fellow citizens, it made him and others that were against him really take a step back and think about what it must have felt like to be treated the way blacks were. He knew segregation was capricious and he knew what he had to do.

  6. A well hero who could not finish what he started was the great man Martin Luther KIng Jr. King was raised in a small two story house in Atlanta, Georgia. When King was a little child he was playing with a white child. Now in this time period people of color were not supposed to be seen with white. So when King's mother saw he was playing with a white child she quickly pulled him away. After that moment King's soon wandered why he was not able to play with his friend. As he grew he saw that it was not typical for people of color and white people to be seen together. From the start he did not like this culture of America at this time. You could say he was an iconoclast to the American society. When he grew older he became more passionate about having all races come together and agree. In his late twenties and early thirties he began to preach about all races being treated equally. Now having this movement caused King to have a lot of haters. One of his most know and ugly hearted haters was Corneal Bull Sanders. This nemesis of King made it his personal passion for this not to happen. He was a supercilious person who just thought African Americans were beneath dirt. While King was far into his movement he made his famous i have a dream speech. He had the whole crowd clapping and on the same page. But a couple days later he was shot on his balcony. This sad tragedy did not allow King to complete his dream to to this day we still have a long way to go.

  7. Although a fictional character, Fitzgerald's Jay Gatsby is a prime example of a man who failed to complete his hero quest. Jay Gatsby was born with the name James Gatz in 1890 in Minnesota. He was dirt poor, and dropped out of college in Minnesota because he had to work as a janitor to put himself through. While fishing on Lake Superior the following summer, Gatsby witnesses a yacht about to sail into an impending storm. He sails out to warn the owner, Dan Cody. Cody was so grateful that he brought Gatsby aboard as a young assistant. This was his call to adventure and Cody was his mentor. He sailed around the world with Cody, falling in love with style and wealth and luxury. He became more of an extrovert with each visit to an exotic, foreign land. When Cody died, he made Gatsby the beneficiary of 25,000 dollars, but Cody's mistress prevented Gatsby from claiming it. He then dedicated himself to becoming a wealthy man. In 1917, while training to fight in World War I, a 27 year old Gatsby falls in love with Daisy Fay, a wealthy girl from Louisville, Kentucky. After the war, while attending Oxford, Gatsby receives a letter from Daisy in which she tells him she married a man by the name of Tom Buchanan. This was his abyss, something out of which he never climbed. He made his fortune bootlegging during the Jazz Age, but his ultimate goal was getting Daisy back. He bought a fabulous mansion in West Egg, Long Island across the bay from Tom and Daisy's humble abode. He tries desperately to win her back, and one day, while returning home from New York, Daisy runs over Myrtle Wilson, a true amazon and a mistress of Tom's, with Gatsby's yellow Rolls Royce. He promises to take all responsibility if they are found out, but they don't stop. George Wilson, Myrtle Wilson's husband, finds out that a yellow car ran Daisy over and Tom tells him it belongs to Gatsby. Driven insane with grief, George barges into Gatsby's backyard and fires a gun, killing Gatsby and then himself. Gatsby was unable to ever recover from losing Daisy. He was stuck in his abyss for the remainder of his short life, unable to grow and transform and come out on the other side. While his love and devotion is intensely admirable, his life remained in neutral. He was a man that never could change, transform, atone for his sins, or cross back into the known world.

  8. King Leonidas of the Sparta was a man who was a hero in many people's eyes, yet he did indeed fall short on his quest for heroism. Leonidas, as well as many other men in Sparta, did not procrastinate to start his career as a warrior, for male youth in Sparta were relocated to remote places to be trained for battle, this being his call to adventure. The young Leonidas, after suffering through many tests and temptations while training, became a extremely prodigious warrior and then the King of Sparta. One day, a messenger of the supercilious Xerxes, king of Persia, brought news saying that Sparta surrendering to Persia would be the panacea to all of their troubles. Leonidas, feeling offended that Xerxes iconoclastically attacked the Spartan beliefs, in turn killed the messenger and appointed Xerxes and the Persians as his nemeses. Leonidas went into the "abyss" when he was very straightforward in the fact that he wanted to go to war, yet he needed benediction from the Ephors in order to declare war, who disapproved. The Ephors, a consulted the Oracle of Delphi, who foretold that all who go will die. Leonidas proceeded with 300 Spartans whom he called his "personal guard" and thousands of other Greeks warriors to Thermopylae, a narrow pass between the mountains and the seas, where the Persian army would have to funnel into, therefore decreasing the number of warriors in battle. As the fighting begins, we see the Greeks fighting very faithfully and Leonidas climbing out from the abyss, doing well controlling the Persians, but their position was given up by a traitor. The following day, almost all of the Greeks left except for the Spartans, who wanted to die with honor. The Spartans fought for minutes while being surrounded by the Persians, but all of them unfortunately died, ending Leonidas's honorable reign.

  9. In the 1800's, Joseph Smith was a young man living in England. He later moved to New York with a migration of people. When Joseph Smith arrived at New York and was 15 years old, he was visited by an angel of God. The message delivered to him was to not join any church because the Christians had a misunderstanding of the life of Jesus Christ. For this the angel gave him golden plates containing unknown scriptures, which he later translated into the Book of Mormon. The young iconoclast began to preach the mormon religion, however it was not accepted by many people. Joseph decided the panacea to their issues with religion acceptance would be moving to a different area. For this he left New York with a group of pilgrims in search for a better place to settle the mormon religion. During their search, those who opposed warned others of this migration. Then they mormon migration decided to settle down in Navoo, Missouri. Five years Joseph was imprisoned and in prison he was murdered by an angry mob. The migration of mormons continued in their search for a place to establish their religion under the lead of the benefactor Brighman Young into Utah, where to now the first Mormon Church remains. Many question whether or not the Mormon could have been a larger community if it's founder, Joseph Smith, were to have not been imprisoned.

  10. For many in WWII their hero quest's had barley even started before they ended. Dragged into war, many were forced into the army and shifted from platoon to platoon. It changed them in many ways, especially when comrades were dying all around them. They tried to support each other, and for some, it was only minutes into a battle before they died. For the most part, the fresh soldiers entered the war quickly, the trials they faced were incomparable to those of anything else ever thought of at the time. Many of them fell into deep depression from where they never emerged. For the ones that did come back, many never overcame PTSD. In ways, they never came back the same nor had they finished their quest.

    1. Line 7 after PTSD. "Even today, it is hard to believe that a possible panacea could be crated to help these war-torn soldiers. Line 3 after them. "Not even the mind of a extrovert, let alone an introvert, could even cope with this."

  12. Ivan the Terrible was a man who didn't complete his hero quest. He was a male emperor of Russia in 1530-1584. Ivan grew up in a supercilious environment in which he was maltreated. He executed his nemesis and took over. During the period of Ivan's good reign was when he separated himself and became more of an introvert. He went through many tests and trials in the his abusive childhood and went slightly insane due to mercury used for medical treatment. He trapped people and had them prosecuted in front of him and his son. He also beat his son's wife while she was pregnant cause her to have miscarriage; he also accidentlly killed his son when discussing this matter. This caused him to fall into an abyss. However, Ivan was never able to atone for his actions because he is forever in debt to the people he killed. Therefore Ivan has not completed the hero quest.

  13. A young man named Benji Wilson never got to finish his hero quest. Ben was a rising superstar in the basketball world. He lived in Chicago during the start of the Michael Jordan reign. He was a 5"11 point guard at the start of his freshman year. He learned to dribble, pass, and shoot very well, like a productive point guard should. But during the next summer, Benji grew about five inches and was now a 6"4 amazon of a player that could dribble and pass like a point guard. Ben was put on Junior Varsity that year and was producing ridiculous numbers. The varsity coach was a very hard-pleasing man, and did not even consider Benji. All the varsity players kept telling the coach to give Benji a try. The coach finally let him have a shot. Ben just shot about thirty shots from the elbow and made probably twenty-eight of them. The coach let him join the team. He got increasingly better each game. More points and more assists every game. Finally he reached a level where he was the number one prospect in the nation. Everyone in Chicago knew who Ben Wilson was. Ben was a bit of an introvert, unlike his brother who was an extrovert. His brother said that Ben was always trying to be like him, and that was the reason he died. Ben Wilson was walking around his school one day when another student bumped into him. This student had a gun on him. He had taken it from him mother's cabinet, but never had the intention to kill someone. He was only trying to intimidate another person who had crossed him up. Ben, when he was bumped into, pushing the other student back. The student unzipped his jacket and revealed that he had a gun. Ben said, "what are you going to do, shoot me''? Then Ben steps towards the gunman and he pulls the gun out and shoots Ben twice in the stomach. It is a real shame what happened to Ben Wilson. He was believed to be a great, even better than Michael Jordan. The only thing we can ask is, what would have been?

  14. An un-finished heroes quest isn't an uncommon occurrence. Many great people have been denied the ability to finish their quests. It's not necessarily the fact that they procrastinated working on the differences they wanted to make or the ideas they wanted to put in place. In some cases the inability to finish the cycle was determined by a short life span and others the opportunity never presented itself. John F. Kennedy's life is the quintessence of an unfinished hero quest. John's call to adventure was his yearning to be President. During the first televised debate, Kennedy passed through the threshold. This was in direct relation to his election into the presidency. John used this new technology to his benefit by applying make- up to look "fresh" on the extremely high definition television. Nixon didn't do the same. In sharp contrast to Kennedy, Nixon had a 5 o'clock shadow and appeared to be very tired. As a result Kennedy won the debate, in the eyes of the television viewers. Although, those tuning in to the radio believed Nixon had won because of the composition of his opinion. Kennedy's challenges were represented through the blockade stand off with, the United States's nemesis, Russia over missiles in Cuba. Kennedy didn't want missiles to be shot at the United States, so he sent ships to meet the Russians to block the delivery of the missles. This act could have started the third world war, but concluded with the Russians retreating. As one of his many temptations Kennedy was reported to have been in an affair with the actress, Marilyn Monroe. On November 2, 1963, John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas, which was believed to be done by a lone assassin located in the library. This was the abyss in Kennedy's hero quest.

  15. A commonly known story is the Battle of Thermopylae. Most people will probably not recognize this until the 300 Spartans are mentioned. These 300 Spartans and the few thousand other Greek soldiers are the heros that were unable to complete their hero quest. All of these soldiers were once in their home at their cities.Training would soon become a very crucial turning point in their lives to help them become stronger than their enemies They were called up to defend their country from their nemesis, Persia. Eventually, these few thousand soldiers were needed to defend the gates of Thermopylae. This was their lowest point on their quest because it was a few thousand of Greeks against 100-300 thousand Persians. They were doing well defending the gates until a Greek civilian betrayed his own country by giving Persia a second route into Greece. Once the Greeks found out about the Persians movement, they withdrew about half of their men leaving 300 Spartans and 1100 other Greek soldiers. Those soldiers defended the bridge for as long as they could, but eventually were demolished by the Persians, who at this point must have been supercilious towards the Greek's iconoclast strategy of leaving half of their men to guard the gates. These brave heros were never able to return to their homes, but did their country proud for years to come.

  16. Gaius Julius Caesar is an example of a hero who did not complete his quest: conquering the known world for the glory of Rome. One could argue his call to adventure was when he became quaestor of Spain, and he saw a sculpture of Alexander the Great. At the time, Caesar was the same age as him when Alexander was at the height of his Greek conquests. This possibly sparked his desire for conquest. After reaching the rank of governor of most of Gaul, the supercilious Caesar began his conquests of the unstable parts of non-Roman controlled Gaul. After successfully defeating the united Gallic tribes and claiming all of Gaul for the empire, the Senate ordered Caesar to disband his army, for his term as governor had ended. However, he returned to Italy with his remaining army, igniting a civil war within Rome. Pompey, Caesar's political nemesis, fled for Greece, where he was defeated by Julius Caesar's army, with Greece taken over as well. Caesar then moved on to Alexandria, where he found himself in the middle of a civil war. He was simply in the right place at the right time, and conquered Alexandria easily. However, Caesar became attached to Cleopatra, and together they took on Pompey, this time killing him. Cleopatra offered his head to Caesar as a sardonic gift. Caesar later went on to conquer the Middle East and Spain. After his conquests, he returned to Rome, being appointed dictator at this time. Little did he know that the Senate planned to assassinate him at a session, because they feared he was gaining too much power and eventually become king. His assassination ends his hero quest, because he does not fulfill his dream of conquering Eurasia for the Roman Empire.

  18. I would have to choose Hitler. Hitler did not succeed far in his hero quest. He never managed to return past the threshold. He committed suicide to escape the Americans. He had taken on the challenge to "try" to improve the government in Germany. Building the structure and coming up with the plans were struggles that he had to plan well. The Christians were the only beneficiaries of Hitler's supposedly benevolent actions. Hitlers' capricious actions destroyed Germany. Germany was many country's nemesis. The Abyss was when America and the allies were gaining up on Germany and destroying some of their army. Hitler never atoned from the destruction. It just went downhill. He died before he could finish his quest.

  19. Steve Irwin, aka the Crocodile Hunter, was killed in a freak accident with a stingray while filming the documentary Ocean's Deadliest. He grew up loving animals and felt pulled to being in a career helping educate people on what he loved. Steve was offered to have his own television show on the Discovery Channel, called the "Crocodile Hunter." He encountered many fights and struggles involving animals on his many episodes that aired. Steve's show became more and more popular until everyone knew of the "Crocodile Hunter." Then audiences started demanding more dangerous and interesting encounters of Steve with the animals, and soon he became a capricious man who you never knew what strange thing he would do next involving animals. He then died before completing his hero quest. I would say his encounter with a stingray, his ultimate nemesis, was the height of his career, but also his downfall. Steve was not able to finish his series or return to the normal world of not being in the public eye, or away from dangerous animals. Therefore I consider the "Crocodile Hunter" as a hero for many animals lovers and an example of courage, but unfortunately died to young before completing his full hero quest, and being a panacea for all people who know nothing of animals.

  20. Adolf Hitler was definitely someone who did not finish his "hero quest." He is known as one of the worlds worst men ever because of the holocaust, and one of the main instigators in World War II. Throughout his entire life his father was pressuring him in a sardonic matter to be someone he wasn't, a singer, an artist, and a scholar. After he left art college he became homeless shortly after his mother's death. In the area that he decided to call "home," Hitler discovered many different views about westerners, immigrants and jews. After his father's death he got the rights to his estate and moved to Munich, Germany. Then he got involved in the first world war, where he fought for the Germans. After the war ended he started to get more involved in politics. Which led to his famous book Mein Kampf, the plan that he plotted out to kill all the jews. He later turned into a real extrovert becoming chancellor of Germany and then going on to becoming the dictator of Germany. Hitler's plan to kill the jews did some major damage, however his nemesis the United States of America with the help of its allies took control of Berlin and Hitler committed suicide.

  21. Abraham Lincoln failed to finish the last stage of his hero quest. This benevolent man's dream had always been to see a united country, but this dream was never fulfilled. His separation from the known world was when he entered the white house and his call to adventure was becoming President of the United States. The beginning of his transformation was the start of the civil war. He faced numerous challenges and temptations such as pleasing both the north and south and creating a plan to deal with slavery. In his abyss, seven southern states seceded from the Union. Then, his focus transformed into strengthening the military and winning the war against the north's nemesis. After winning the war, the iconoclast abolished slavery. Shortly after this, he was assasinated and was never truly able to oversee a successful reunion of the states.

  22. While it is one of the trashiest shows in the realm of television, Desperate Housewives is definitely my favorite. One of the major four characters, Bree Van De Kamp, goes on a major hero quest struggling with her addiction of alcohol. The addiction is very capricious in the sense that she keeps getting better then worse again. The obsession begins when her son, Andrew, hating her. When Bree becomes depressed, she tries to make alcohol the panacea to her problems. Her call to adventure is when her friends realize the issue and try to help her. All of her best friends act as mentors to her throughout the journey. Bree's abyss is when she gets so drunk that she passes out in a store. When Bree realizes how much of an issue the addiction has become, she tries to get aid from the priest. Unlike her supercilious neighbors, the priest does not judge her. When she begins to get better, another tragic event happens. Her friend killed a man in self defense, but there was no evidence that it was self defense. In fear of what the police would think, the four best friends hide the body. Once again, Bree feels horrible about herself and turns to alcohol. Even when the situation gets cleared up, Bree remains addicted to alcohol and never truly becomes her old self. Although she was beginning her rebirth, it ends when she goes all the way back to the beginning of her journey.

  23. Elvis was a very successful singer that everyone knows. Unfortunately he was not able to finish his hero quest while he was alive. He began as a small town boy who repeatedly tried to join a band but never could. Sam Phillips gave Elvis his call to adventure when he asked Elvis to sing in his Recording Studio. Sam Phillips was also Elvis's mentor giving him new songs to sing and advising him on everything about music. After that Elvis quickly became immensely popular, mostly because he was iconoclastic, singing soul songs even though he was white. Elvis' trials were sardonic remarks from the public that every artist has to go through and pulling off multiple concerts. After Elvis began to rise back up from a low spot in his career, Elvis became hooked on drugs, his biggest nemesis. Even though Elvis was addicted he tried to overcome it, scheduling more concerts and continuing to get more popular. Unfortunately he was not able to get off drugs and Elvis ultimately died from them.

He was a huge big recruit throughout his high-school years and eventually attended the University of Mississippi. As a freshmen he noticed severe back pains and went through multiple testings. Than young Cooper at eighteen years old faced his nemesis. He suffered from spinal stenosis. Cooper could never play football again. 25. Greg Oden's career was a very humble beginning. He was an un-naturally tall 6th grader. The coach saw his height as a great starting center for his middle school basketball team. Oden didn't have the best coordination that was clear after the first few practices. Greg Oden started off the season on the bench. This angered Oden to the point that he wouldn't stop practicing. He practiced and put in the hard work. His motivation was all the people that had sardonic tones towards his ability to hoop. Finally, he had put in so much work that he had finally was able to consistently hit his elbow jumper. He kept getting better and better throughout all the years, to the point that his senior year, he had the honor of being an McCdonald's All-American player. He played in the All-American game and he was projected to be the first-round draft pick in the NBA Draft. Without procrastinating, Greg was ready to skip college and go straight for the big leagues. Getting drafted to the number one slot, Greg had suffered every athlete's nemesis. He tore his ACL the third game of the season. Oden suffered this injury and then he wasn't able to recover. His injuries kept reoccurring and he wasn't able to get in the games. All the teams in the NBA thought that it wasn't worth the risk to add Oden to their roster. Currently, Oden is losing money fast and he can't seem to find a panacea for all his injuries. Maybe he will be able to return to the NBA one day and complete his last stage of his hero-quest.

Cinderella not only had her step mom hating on her, but she also had two more nemesis', her step sisters. All they wanted to do was make her work and work. So, when Cinderella wanted to go to the ball, her step mom did everything she could to prevent her from that. She made a list of chores and told Cinderella to complete them and then she could go to the ball. Unexpectedly, she completes the list of chores and goes to the ball. This means that her step mother did not finish her quest of not letting Cinderella go to the ball. Cinderella's s stepmother did not complete her hero quest.
